Meet Loren Sheffer
Loren has been involved with the car business since 1976. He graduated with a degree in education from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in January of 1976. He then went on to work selling cars at a local new car dealer. Just a few months into the business he received an offer to coach the water polo team at the University of Wisconsin – Riverfalls. Two seasons into it, the car business called again and he went to work selling at Walser Buick in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After a few months, he set sales records, and after a year, he was promoted to business manager. He handled the finance, insurance and warranty sales, where he again was a record setter. He then was promoted to assistant general manager where he oversaw the used car department and all inventories of vehicles. In 1981, he left the car business to become the vice president and general manager of aero precision engineering, a manufacturer of fine tolerance metal parts serving the manufacturing industry. In 1984, he was recruited to return to the car business to run the pre-owned operation of one of the country’s largest and oldest Volvo dealers, Borton Volvo of Minneapolis. Borton’s owner, Kjell Bergh, then offered Loren a partnership in an all new Volvo store in Delray Beach, Florida. That store opened in 1988 and was one of the country’s’ largest and most award-recognized Volvo dealerships. Late in 2004 it was sold to AutoNation and Loren was offered to open a point in ft. Myers. Loren has three children. Amy, 18, Nicole, 16, a son named Bo, 2 along with wife Monika. His hobbies include art, water sports, fishing, hunting and almost any activity with his family. Loren’s wife is from Denmark and they travel to Scandinavia frequently.

Nila first came to work for Loren in 1981 in Minneapolis. She then moved to the east coast of Florida and was reunited with Loren in 1993 and has worked with him ever since. She is a multiple award-winning controller and has been an officer and part owner of Volvo / Suzuki of Ft. Myers since its inception. She has two grown children, Angela and Jesse, and two grandchildren, Jaida and Alyssa. She is also a licensed boat captain and enjoys tournament fishing. Nila is self-educated, holding virtually every office and accounting position a dealership can have. Her soft spoken demeanor and confidence in her work make her invaluable to the company.

Keith has been in the automobile business since 1982 where he began his career in Mississippi as a salesman for a growing Ford dealership. He quickly realized how much he enjoyed the business and worked his way to sales manager in four short years. In 1991 his desire to become a dealer was realized as he partnered with a dealer group and purchased a Lincoln Mercury Volvo dealership in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. In 1996 Keith ventured out on his own and moved his family to Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he purchased a Lincoln Mercury dealership. He later purchased a Lincoln Mercury store in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2004 he was awarded the Volvo franchise at his Tuscaloosa store. For the past 13 years Keith and his family have made Alabama their home and have won many community service awards as well as awards from the manufactures for outstanding service and sales. After almost 28 years in the business he has sold and closed his stores in Alabama and has accepted the general manager's position here at Volvo Suzuki of Fort Myers. Keith runs every morning. He enjoys golfing on the beautiful courses here in Florida and hunting in the winters in Montana. He also enjoys spending time boating and fishing with his wife of 35 years. Bruce has four children, Pax who is in the wine business, Elizabeth in advertising; Jonathan graduated from Loyola University and Chandler a sophomore. Bruce was born in Sarasota and has lived in the Ft. Myers area since 1985. His hobbies include golf, movies and good food. Bruce is Mr. Personality. He owned a 24-hour diner for 10 years as well as a wine shop. John is married with three grown children, Krista, Jonathan and Tricia. He also has two grandchildren, Dean and Gene. The voice of Volvo/ Suzuki of Fort Myers. Pat was born in Maryland and has spent most of her life there moving to Florida six years ago. Pat was the switchboard operator of the Frederick County Board of Education before joining the family business. Since moving to Florida she was the Receptionist and phone operator for Denmark Interiors leaving there to join Volvo/ Suzuki of Fort Myers when they opened the business. She and her husband live in Tara Woods in North Fort Myers. They are the parents of two daughters living in Maryland.
